{"id":4020,"date":"2026-04-23T13:16:46","date_gmt":"2026-04-23T11:16:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.igeas.com\/?post_type=realizzazioni&#038;p=4020"},"modified":"2026-04-24T16:03:08","modified_gmt":"2026-04-24T14:03:08","slug":"turin-orbassano-pinerolo-motorway-2nd-section-lot-2-and-lot-3","status":"publish","type":"realizzazioni","link":"https:\/\/www.igeas.com\/en\/projects\/turin-orbassano-pinerolo-motorway-2nd-section-lot-2-and-lot-3\/","title":{"rendered":"Turin\u2013Orbassano\u2013Pinerolo Motorway \u2013 2nd Section, Lot 2 and Lot 3."},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Project objective<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Within the works for the construction of the \u201cTurin\u2013Orbassano\u2013Pinerolo\u201d motorway section, our Company developed the executive construction design of the motorway alignment and of all the planned structures.<br \/>\nThe motorway section constitutes the completion of the existing route: overall length approx. 11.365 km, divided into three construction lots carried out concurrently.<br \/>\nOur scope covered Lots 2 and 3, with lengths of 6.130 km and 2.950 km, respectively.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Main works<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>LOT 2<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cPiscina\u201d interchange<\/em><br \/>\nThe interchange includes two deceleration lanes (exiting traffic) and two acceleration lanes (entering traffic). The ramps tie into a large roundabout at a lower elevation than the motorway carriageways, providing the connection to the existing road network. Four motorway overpasses were built, each with 3 spans (15\u201325\u201315 m): decks with precast prestressed RC beams and in\u2011situ slab made continuous between spans (kinematic\u2011chain scheme to avoid joints at piers); RC abutments and piers on shallow foundations.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cC\u00e0 Bianca\u201d underpass<\/em><br \/>\nReinforced\u2011concrete box culvert, longitudinal length 27.50 m, with 1.0 m thick foundation slab, 1.0 m thick walls and 5.50 m clear height; horizontal top slab with overall thickness 90 cm. Clear span 9.50 m.<\/p>\n<p><em>Railway underpass \u2013 Turin\u2013Pinerolo line<\/em><br \/>\nThe railway line crosses the motorway axis at a small skew angle, requiring a long cut\u2011and\u2011cover tunnel (\u224890 m) built without interrupting rail traffic, with RC walls and foundations, roof with precast prestressed beams and an in\u2011situ cast slab.
