Activities are carried out according to precise planning, execution and control procedures, as schematically summarised in the following fundamental points:

• start-up of the project through the assignment of the related identification number;
• analysis and identification of the basic documents and technical specifications;
• in-depth assessment of the requirements of the activity, with identification of the applicable technical standards;
• retrieval of any additional documentation and standards;
• planning of the activities, with identification of the necessary resources, the documents and deliverables to be produced, the personnel involved in the activities and the related execution times;
• development of the activity through the execution of numerical processing, the drafting of the planned reports and graphic drawings, and execution of the related checks;
• reviews of the activities carried out and, where applicable, possible validation of the service.

Activity planning consists of identifying the main activities to be carried out, the times agreed with the client, the documents and deliverables to be produced, the documents and basic data necessary for the development of each activity, and the company functions involved. During planning, the review and verification moments for the individual activities are also established.

The prepared plans are regularly updated according to the results of the checks carried out and following any new needs or requests that may arise during the development phase (project modifications and variations). The activities are carried out under constant control and coordination among the various company functions involved by the technical managers assigned to the project.

All documentation produced (graphic drawings, technical and/or calculation reports, etc.) is kept under control through identification, filing and updating (revisions) in order to ensure maximum traceability of the product. At appropriate phases of the activities, moments are planned for the review of the results and of the documents produced.

Checks are carried out by the technical manager and by the company functions concerned, verifying compliance with the basic requirements, the regulations in force, the imposed standards and the scheduled times.

In the event of a positive outcome, the approving technical manager updates the planning of the subsequent activities; in the event of a negative outcome, the “Non-Conformities (NC)” are identified and analysed, and the “Corrective Actions (CA)” deemed necessary are undertaken in order to eliminate the NCs themselves and identify the appropriate measures to prevent their recurrence.
